LOCKHART
Our Lockhart readers are half the weight of similar styles from other brands and the perfect combination of iconic looks and futuristic performance technology. They appear to be quite substantial but are in fact extremely lightweight for all-day comfort.
Borrowing from our award-winning performance sunglasses, the frames of the Lockhart feature ultra lightweight TR-90 nylon, which are lighter than acetate or polycarbonate, nearly unbreakable in daily use, and impervious to chemicals. They have integrated spring hinges, which last longer than traditional barrel hinges and flex with different head shapes. The Lockhart also features our propriety GEKO™ technology, both in the temple grips and in our patented, interchangeable nose pads. GEKO™ is a hydrophilic compound designed to get tackier when wet or sweaty, which helps our glasses stay in place when you're active – working out, hiking, bending down to pick up the groceries, or playing with your pets or kids.
At the end of the day, all of this tech is meticulously engineered to deliver the performance you'd expect from sport glasses without having to look like you are about to step onto a racquetball court.
The Lockhart is assembled by hand at our own optical lab inside our Austin, Texas, headquarters and is available for direct purchase in a variety of premium lens configurations. It can also be made in non-prescription sunglasses, a regular distance prescription, progressives, and prescription sunglasses.
